Does the illuminati control the federal reserve and in effect the united states?

I don't think so, but I'm no expert. I know that the Federal Reserve has a huge hand in working out inflation rates and interests rates and so on, and that these have a huge effect on everybody. It's supposed to be a control mechanism so there are no hills and troughs in the economy, but I don't think it works very well.
