Freaky looking spider in my room cant sleep?

It looked like a centipede... It was brown, had a long body BUT it had 8 legs. Now I friggen hate spiders. I didn't want to kill it so I cupped it against the wall with my berber drum that I got from Egypt. I was screaming blue murder (bare in mind its like 2am so mother was not very happy) she removed drum and ran downstairs with it. She then told me there's nothing in it... Now I'm scared. I'm all itching and sweating. I can't even go downstairs to sleep because it could of flown out while mom was running with it.. it could even still be in my room. Oh god the thought of the spider is making me feel nauseous. What to do? Mom has gone back to bed and she isnt going to help me again.
