Plugged ear and tinnitus after cold, help!?

I have had tinnitus (ringing in my left ear) for over a month. Last week I had a cold (cough mild sore throat etc) and for the last 3 days the ringing in my left ear had been much louder, and my ear keeps clogging and unclogging. Right now it has been clogged for 3 hours and is getting painful! How do I unclog it?! I tried hydrogen peroxide, didn't work I also tried plugging my nose and blowing out of it, that didn't work either. I'm getting desperate!
