How do you unclog your ear?

i've been sick for like four or five days with a multitude of symptoms. just today, my ear clogged up and i can't hear out of it. i tried heating up hot water and putting my ear to it, and it unclogged it temporarily, but it filled again. what can i do to unclog it? do you think i should go to a clinic? i havent yet because i dont have insurance.
