I have a drain which wont drain help please.?

So in my basement we gave a door leading outside where the drain is there which is supposed to collect water. But it doesn't we tried unclogging it or getting it to work but there are tree roots growing underneath so we cant go that route any suggestions. when it rains heavy I end up having to use a bucket and pour water onto grass. It gets frustrating so please help.
