Toilet is clogged, water is at the top of the bowl and wont drain! Help, Please!?

This morning I clogged my toilet. I tried plunging it but got no results, so I left for the day hoping that the water (that was at the top of the bowl) would drain by the time I got home so I could work on getting it unclogged again. Well its now 11:30 P.M. and the water hasn't drained at all. I've continued plunging, but nothing has happened. At this point, I'll take any help I can get (preferably not a plumber though)! Please, please, please HELP ME!
